Bus CPC (the “app”)

Last updated: 21 August 2026

Who we are

The app is published by Logistics Training (UK) Ltd, 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the limited personal information described below.

If you have any question about this policy, or about information we hold, contact us at support@lgvapp.co.uk.

The short version

The app has no user accounts and no login. Your study progress, test marks and purchases are held on your own device and are not sent to us. We do not track you, we do not show adverts, and we do not sell or share your information.

There is one place where you can choose to send us something: the contact form. It is optional, and if you never use it we never receive any personal information about you at all.

The app also sends one anonymous count of which steps of the licence process you have ticked off on the checklist. It carries no name, no address and no identifier of any kind, so it cannot be traced back to you or to your device.

Information held on your device only

The app stores the following on your phone or tablet, and nowhere else:

  • which lessons, case studies and hazard perception clips you have completed
  • your answers and your marks in practice tests and mock tests
  • a record of which modules you have purchased, so paid content stays unlocked
  • simple app settings, such as whether sounds are switched on
  • which steps of the licence checklist you have ticked off

We cannot see any of it. It is not backed up to us, it is not linked to your name, and it is not transmitted anywhere. If you uninstall the app, this information is deleted with it — and because there are no accounts, we cannot restore your progress. Your purchases can always be restored, because those are held by Apple or Google against your store account rather than by us: use More → Restore purchases in the app.

Information you choose to send us

The contact form

The app contains a contact form, under Useful Information → Contact us. If you fill it in and submit it, the app sends us:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • the message you wrote

We use this only to answer you.

The anonymous checklist count

Once per installation, the app sends us a count of which steps of the licence checklist were ticked — for example that a medical had been done but training had not. It tells us how many people arriving at the app still need each step, which helps us decide what to build and who to work with.

It contains nothing that identifies you. No name, no address, no email, no device or installation identifier, and nothing that could be joined to any other record. We cannot tell which installation any count came from, including yours, so it is not personal information and it is not something we could delete on request even if we wanted to.

Both are optional in the sense that matters: the contact form only goes if you fill it in, and nothing in the app is withheld from you either way. There is no other form or feature in the app that transmits personal information.

Purchases

The app sells two in-app purchases, Module 1 and Module 2. These are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you installed the app.

We never see or handle your payment details. Your card number, billing address and similar information go to Apple or Google, not to us. The app asks the store only whether your store account has bought a module, so that it can unlock the content. Apple and Google process that information as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.

Ratings and reviews

The app can ask whether you would like to rate it. That prompt is provided by Apple or Google, and any review you leave is published on their store under their terms. We do not receive anything from the app when this happens.

Links to other websites

The app links out to GOV.UK pages for booking a theory test, applying for a tachograph card and obtaining DVLA forms, and to our own website. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s site, governed by their privacy policy, not this one.

What the app does not do

For the avoidance of doubt, the app does not:

  • collect or use your location
  • access your contacts, photos, microphone or camera
  • use an advertising identifier, or any other identifier used for tracking
  • show adverts, or share anything with advertising networks
  • run usage tracking that follows you, or crash reporting of our own. The single exception is the anonymous checklist count described above: it is one untraceable total, it carries no identifier, and it cannot show us what any individual person did
  • create a profile of you, or make automated decisions about you
  • sell or rent personal information to anybody

Apple and Google may collect their own diagnostic and crash information at the operating system level, according to the settings on your device and their own policies. That is outside our control and we do not receive it in a form that identifies you.

Our legal basis for using your information

Under the UK GDPR, where you submit the contact form, we rely on:

  • Consent — you chose to fill in and submit the form. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, and we will delete the details.
  • Legitimate interests — answering an enquiry you have made of us, in the way you would reasonably expect.

The anonymous checklist count is not personal information, so no lawful basis is needed for it. No other part of the app processes personal information, because no other part of it sends anything off your device.

How long we keep it

We keep contact enquiries for as long as is needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards for our own business records, normally no more than two years, and then delete them. Ask us sooner and we will delete them sooner.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Because the only information we hold is what you sent us through the contact form, a request is usually straightforward to answer.

To ask us to delete information we hold about you, write to support@lgvapp.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, ico.org.uk, or by telephone on 0303 123 1113. We would prefer the chance to put things right first.

Children

The app is study material for people training for a Passenger Carrying Vehicle licence and the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence, so it is aimed at adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their details through the contact form, contact us and we will delete them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this policy and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged in the app or on our website. The current version always applies.
